A Citizen Review Meeting regarding the request for a conditional use permit for Dunkin Donuts with a drive-thru facility at the southeast corner of Bell Road and Cotton Lane is from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday July 19th
The Community and Economic Development Department may be contacted prior to the meeting at 623-222-3137. The project representative is Andy Jochums, who can be reached at 480-429-3063. in the Lobby Conference Room at Surprise City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.
Real Life Ministries, a non-profit based in Surprise, will play host to a free backpack giveaway beginning at 10 a.m. July 31 at Arizona Charter Academy, 16011 N. Dysart Road, Surprise.
Approximately 500 elementary and middle-school children will receive a free backpack loaded with school supplies. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Safari Wagon will be on-site providing basic health screenings.
Surprise Fire and Police Departments will be showcasing department equipment and handing out safety materials. Supplies are limited and will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.
• Brianna King has been named to the dean’s list at Clarion University in Clarion, Pa.,for the second semester of the 2010 academic year.
King, a Surprise resident, is a liberal studies major.
• Shelbe Tillman has been named to the dean’s list at Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., for the second semester of the 2010 academic year.
Tillman, a Surprise resident, is studying in the college of liberal arts and sciences/international studies.
