Surprise, ArizonaThe answer I received from the city in regards to my quesstion: Have you found out if we are on track to receive the $2.5 million grant, are we looking for partners that can put up the matching funds.City’s reply: We are not pushing to move forward with the federal grant at this time. (As you noted in your e-mail it is very difficult for us to find partners needed to provide the $2.5 million dollar match) this was not in my email. We may pursue again in the future.Take a look at the City of Peoria and all across Arizona.

I find it interesting that the City of Surprise lets (ICMA) use its logo, where as Peoria or Glendale doesn’t.

Where are the individual characters we use to have, those that we have today all appear to be lost.Council Members follow staff like they have a ring in their nose with a chain on the end of it. Interim town managers strive to fill gaps

Excerpts below from July 4th Arizona Republic
“As interim city manager, Coronado has sought to convey that he has goals to accomplish until a permanent replacement is named”.“I was clear with the council that I would not be a caretaker,” Coronado said.
They hire an Interim City Manager that has goals to accomplish ” That is not his job, the Council should be doing this”. He told them that he would not be a caretaker, if they did not hire him as a caretaker, what was their game plan? This is all Bunko.
Surprise, Arizona The city before today had a policy, if the pick up day for garbage or recycling fell on a holiday; it was picked up on the following day. As today was a legal holiday and city employees were working picking up our recyclable garbage I wonder if they will be paid double time?
I can’t make it any clearer, if staff wants to work 4 days, great, pay them for 8 hr.s a day = 32 hours. Is there a law on the books that they have to work 40 hours a week? At 32 hours they would still receive all of their benefits. The only hang up that I have, is why should staff and council members have, or receive all of the benefits, that the city has to offer. Lets balance it out between the city, staff and the council members.
