Surprise competes in the Special Olympics State Track and Field Meet
SURPRISE, AZ (May 8, 2008) For the very first time the City of Surprise Special Olympics Track Team competed in the Annual Arizona State Special Olympics Track and Field Meet. The event was held, May 2-3, at the Sun Angel Field on the Arizona State University campus in Tempe.
The Surprise Special Olympics team brought home 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2 sixth-place finishes.
The Surprise Special Olympics Track Team includes: Trina Jerome, Tracy Jo Richard, Jason Boykin and Kyle Mitchell, and was coached by Head Coach Keith Reiger and assistants Jose Ortiz and Joshua Gher.
