Spring training Web site redone
The new Surprise spring-training Web site goes live with a bold-new look and includes all the information you need about the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers and their spring training home - Surprise Stadium.
At www.surprisespringtraining.com, find the 2008 spring training schedule, ticket information, promotional day details and specifics about the Coca-Cola Classic College Tournament when Arizona State hosts college baseball teams from Portland, Michigan and Hawaii.
Spring training tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. Jan. 5. Individual game tickets can be purchased in person at the Surprise Stadium ticket office, 15960 N. Bullard Ave; online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 480-784-444.
SUN CITIES
Enameling club open house
The Copper Cookers Creations Club, the enameling group of Sun City West, will hold a studio open house, demonstration and sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Beardsley Recreation Center, 12755 W. Beardsley Road, Sun City West.
Demonstrations by club members will show how enamel is applied to copper to create many designs. Demonstrators also will answer questions about the construction of a piece and the various techniques used. Bowls, plates, jewelry and decorative items made by members will be for sale.

New Christy Minstrels to play
The Sun City West Curtain Call series features the New Christy Minstrels at 4 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 in the Palm Ridge Recreation Center, 13800 W. Deer Valley Drive, Sun City West.
Say Goodnight Gracie follows on Feb. 21, with Gran Folklorico de Mexico rounding out the season on March 13.
