The ineptitude of our city manager and especialy Dr. Maki
At the council meeting held on May 10,07 I told the council that most of the estimates given to the council were flawed. This is a good example, Memorandum from Robert E. Maki, P.E. Traffic Engineer dated Feb.17,2004 to Jim Rumpeltes, City Manager

Bell Road Surface
Earlier this fiscal year a specialist in pavement preservation recommended application of a 5/8″ thick rubberized micrsurface after any needed crack sealing and rut filling. This work requires closing only one lane at a time. Estimated cost for the nine miles from Avenue of the Arts to the Beardsly Canal is $1.8 million including cover adjustments, traffic control and pavement markings. The project is in PW 2004-05 CPI but may be split into two years.
