Bell Road
The City of Surprise held a special meeting on the third of May, the mayor had asked for a workshop, who changed it?
At this meeting they had a paid consultant give a PowerPoint presentation on our streets, without going into the details I thought it was excellent. Had this been in a workshop and had we been prepared, I am sure, questions would have been asked.
In Arizona maintenance is very important and costs are higher because of the heat.
Bell Road is a good example, of what will happen if we don’t maintain our streets. We seem to have money for everything else, so I would suggest that in the 2008 and future budgets we set aside money for the purpose of maintaining our streets and that this money cannot be used for anything else.
We must start repairing Bell Road this year.
The way we are spending our money as well as hearing our professional City Manager say that we can borrow the money to maintain our streets is, I believe ludicrous and a sure path to the poor house.
